Fatherhood: it's one of those things that you just can't understand until you become a dad.
That's what I've heard, anyway. But what is it exactly about fatherhood that turns grown men into sentimental, sensitive sweethearts? I talked to a few dads about their favorite thing about being a parent.
Here's what they had to say:
A guy at work told me something a friend of his said, and although strange, it is quite true. He said, "There's nothing better in the morning than waking up to a poopy diaper.” kinda weird huh? But I have to say, it's true. Maybe you have to be a parent to understand that.
Obviously, it's not the diaper itself, but everything that goes around it. It's that it's how you start your day, a daily reminder that you love someone, and that you are loved and needed.
Every day with my son is a blessing even its kinda bit too late for me. Watching the rapid development of his personality provides lots of laughs and brings joy into me.
Seeing the world through his eyes, and watching his reactions to learning and seeing new things brings tremendous joy to my life. Being a dad keeps me grounded and makes everyday troubles seem less complicated.
The highlight of my day is hearing his little voice exclaiming “Ayah”, Then having him run over to you so he can climb up on you and proceed to tell you in his own way what he has done all day.
How can you not smile at that? :)
